Build Live Artifacts in Claude Cowork
You will build two Live Artifacts in Claude Cowork side by side: an attention dashboard fed by your email, calendar and Slack, and a custom dashboard (here, PostHog analytics) that refreshes with your live data.
O que você precisa
A Claude account with Claude Cowork (claude.ai)
Your tools connected to Cowork, for example Gmail, Google Calendar and Slack
Optional: PostHog or an AI note-taker such as Fireflies for the custom dashboard
Passo a passo
Start from a ready-made use case
Open Live Artifacts in Claude Cowork and click What needs my attention. Cowork asks which communication channels you use so it can build a live page that summarizes what is happening across them.
Connect your tools and answer the questions
Connect Cowork to the tools you use before building, so it knows what it can reach. Then answer its questions: - Tools to pull from: Email, Calendar and Slack - What counts as needing attention: this week - How it stays updated: open in manual reload
Start a second artifact while the first builds
Building takes a while, so do not wait. Go back and click New Artifact, then Create with Claude. Claude explains what Live Artifacts are and looks at everything connected to your Cowork, then asks what you want to build.
Answer the brainstorm questions
Tell Claude the domain, how often you will open it, and what you want to see. I answered: client work, opened multiple times a day, numbers and charts. This step is optional: if you already know what you want, ask Claude to build it directly.
Brainstorm answersClient work. I'm gonna open it multiple times a day. Numbers and charts.
Narrow it to one clear dashboard
Claude proposes several ideas. Pick one. I chose a single client dashboard built on PostHog, the analytics tool that records who visits your website and what they click.
Narrowing replyI want a single hero client, and I want PostHog.
Choose what to track
Keep selecting options. I tracked traffic and engagement, experiments and feature flags, and errors and health, and chose use my default PostHog project. Now both artifacts build at the same time.
Open your finished Live Artifacts
When an artifact is done, check the context window to see which connectors it uses (here, PostHog). Find your artifacts in the pinned section and click one to open the live dashboard.
Review the attention dashboard
Open the attention artifact (mine was called Attention V2). It shows every connected channel: which emails need a reply, which Slack DMs to answer, and how the rest of your week looks.
Fique atento a
Connect your tools to Claude Cowork beforehand: an artifact can only use the connectors it can see.
Normal artifacts in Claude Chat cannot pull live data from Gmail, Fireflies or other tools. You need Live Artifacts in Cowork for that.
Building takes time. Start several artifacts in parallel instead of waiting on one.
Claude can get chatty while brainstorming. If you already know what you want, say so and skip the extra questions.
