Step by step

  1. Create a Zernio account and connect your social accounts

Sign up for Zernio. Your first two social media accounts are free, and each extra account costs six dollars. In the dashboard, click New connection and connect the accounts you want Claude to use.

  2. Copy the Zernio MCP link

Open the Zernio documentation and go to the MCP tab, then the MCP section. Zernio also offers an API and a CLI for developers, but you only need the MCP. Ignore the setup prompt shown there. Copy the MCP server link from the paragraph that describes it.

  3. Open Connectors in Claude

In Claude, open the Customize tab and select Connectors. Zernio is not in the connector list, so you will add it yourself. If Anthropic has moved these buttons, use the search bar to find them.

  4. Add Zernio as a custom connector

Click the Add button in the top right. Type Zernio as the name (you can use any name) and paste the MCP link as the MCP server. Click Continue. Authentication should already be set to None. Scroll to the bottom and click Add.

  5. Authorize your Zernio account

Click Connect, then Continue Connecting. Zernio lists the access Claude will get, such as reading posts, managing posts and reading accounts. Click Authorize, then Open Claude.

  6. Set the tool permissions

Go through each tool in the connector settings. By default, tools ask for approval. Choose Always allow only for actions you trust. For actions like Create a social media post, pick Don't allow or Ask for approval if you don't want Claude posting without your say.

  7. Check the connection in a chat

Start a new chat, click the + symbol, open Connectors and scroll to the bottom to confirm Zernio is there. Then ask Claude if it is connected, followed by which accounts it can see.

    Are you connected to Zernio?
    List connected accounts
Which social media accounts are we connected to through Zernio?
  8. Ask about followers and post performance

Ask Claude about your follower changes, then compare recent posts across platforms in one prompt. Claude pulls the data through Zernio and returns metrics such as likes, saves, shares and average watch time.

    YouTube followers
How have my YouTube followers evolved over the last two days?
    Same for Instagram
Can you do the same for Instagram?
    Compare posts
How did my last three posts perform on TikTok and Instagram?

Watch out for

  • Claude may reply in another language. If it does, ask it to reply in English.

  • TikTok data can lag by several hours, so recent TikTok posts may not show full metrics yet.

  • Setting every tool to Always allow lets Claude take actions such as publishing posts without asking. Review each permission first.

  • X is an exception to the free accounts: it requires a payment card because X API calls are billed. Check current pricing before adding more accounts.
