This page says plainly what happens to your data when you visit genial-agency.com. No dark patterns, no legal fog. If anything here is unclear, write to miguel@genial-agency.com and we will fix the wording.
Genial Agency runs genial-agency.com. The person responsible for the data described below is Miguel Torrez, reachable at miguel@genial-agency.com.
This page covers the website only. It does not cover what happens once you become a client, which is governed by the agreement we sign.
We use PostHog, hosted on its European cloud. Nothing PostHog-related loads until you press accept on the consent banner.
Once you accept, PostHog records the pages you open, the elements you click and their visible text, how far you scroll, your mouse movement, your browser, operating system, device type, screen size, an approximate location derived from your IP address, and the site that sent you here. It also records a replay of your visit that we can watch back, and it builds heatmaps of where visitors click. Text you type into form fields is masked before it leaves your browser.
Those events stay on PostHog's EU servers and are retained under the retention policy of our PostHog plan. They are never sold and never used for advertising.
Vercel Web Analytics counts page views without cookies and without storing anything in your browser. It cannot follow you between sessions or between sites, which is why it does not sit behind the consent banner.
It is the only thing that measures you without asking first, and what it produces is aggregate traffic: how many people opened which page, and roughly where they came from. Not a profile of you. No separate performance-monitoring script is loaded on top of it.
cookie_consent, in your browser's local storage: records whether you accepted or declined analytics so you are not asked again on every page. Rewritten when you change your answer.
NEXT_LOCALE, a cookie that lasts one year: remembers the language you chose with the language switcher so the site opens in it next time. It is written only when you use the switcher, never by simply browsing.
ph_ cookies and local storage entries, set by PostHog after you accept: hold the anonymous identifier that ties one visit's events together. Deleted when you withdraw your consent.
Cal.com sets its own cookies inside the booking window, and only if you open it. That window is Cal.com's own page embedded in ours, so Cal.com's privacy policy governs what happens inside it.
YouTube video players load from youtube-nocookie.com, and only after you click play. Until then the page shows a still image and no YouTube script runs.
PostHog is loaded through /ingest on genial-agency.com, which forwards to PostHog's European servers. This is a reverse proxy, and its practical effect is that content blockers do not recognise the request as analytics.
We say so here rather than leave you to discover it. It changes nothing about what is collected or who receives it: the recipient is still PostHog, and it still only happens after you accept.
Use the cookie settings control in the footer of any page. It brings the consent banner back. Choosing no there stops PostHog capturing anything and deletes the identifiers it stored in your browser.
Under the GDPR you can ask what we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to the processing entirely. Write to miguel@genial-agency.com and you will get an answer within one month.
If that answer does not satisfy you, you can complain to the data protection authority of the country you live in.
