Claude Code Artifacts Explained in 3 Minutes
If you have ever tried to share a long Claude Code session with a colleague, you know the problem: it becomes a wall of text nobody can follow. In this quick walkthrough I show you the new Claude Code Artifacts feature, which turns an entire session into a clean hosted webpage you can share with one simple prompt. Three minutes of video, one prompt, and your AI work becomes something your team can actually review.
What you need
- Claude Code with the Artifacts feature, which is available for people on the Enterprise plan and on the Teams plan
- A session worth sharing, like a research run, a coding session, or an automation build
1. What artifacts are (0:08)
Artifacts have been available on Claude Chat for probably a few months now. They are simple webpages that let you share all of the work you have done.
This is extremely useful when you collaborate with a team, because you cannot really just hand someone a raw Claude Code session. When you use AI at scale, text is not an efficient way of keeping track of information, and it becomes very difficult to understand what actually happened. A session that made perfect sense while you were driving it turns into noise the moment a colleague has to read it cold.
2. Artifacts turn a session into a hosted webpage (0:52)
Claude Code Artifacts take an entire conversation with Claude Code and turn it into a webpage hosted on the Anthropic infrastructure. That means you do not need any other service whatsoever to share your work with your teams. No exports, no separate hosting, no tooling around it. Your work goes from a private session to a page your team can simply open, and everything stays in one place.
3. Example: sharing a market study (1:08)
In the video, I have a session that was a market study, a market overview for France and the Netherlands, and I need to share it with one of my colleagues. Instead of sending him the entire block of text, which is pretty much unreadable at some point, I ask Claude Code to generate an artifact.
The prompt is as simple as it gets:
Create an artifact for me to share this.
That is the whole trick. No format spec, no template.
4. Use artifacts to stay oriented in your own work (1:36)
This is not only for teammates. Sometimes you get lost in everything you did with Claude Code across a long session. Creating a simple artifact to keep track of the entire session is a fantastic way to not lose sight of what you are actually aiming to achieve. Think of it as a summary page of your own AI work. When a session stretches across many steps, that one page saves you from rebuilding your own context from scratch every time you come back to it.
5. The result, and why it beats static HTML files (1:58)
About two minutes later, the artifact is ready, and I am quite happy with the result. My France and Netherlands market overview is now a single shareable page.
Compare that with the old way: asking for an HTML file, sending the file around, and watching it go stale within a couple of iterations or a couple of minutes of new work. With an artifact you share one page and communicate efficiently with everyone you are working with. One link, one current version, no attachments floating around in inboxes.
6. Coding and business use cases (2:39)
If you are using Claude Code to code, you can include all of the changes you made to the code in the artifact. If you are using it for business use cases, you can show the before and after of everything you did in the session. Automated your reporting? Automated bookkeeping? Put that into the artifact and hand it to your colleagues.
When it is ready, the only thing you have to do is click Share, and you can share it with anyone.
Tips
- Default to an artifact whenever the work needs a second pair of eyes. The before and after is what makes AI work reviewable.
- Use it mid-session, not just at the end, when a long run starts getting hard to follow and you need to reorient yourself.
- Remember the plan requirement: Artifacts in Claude Code are for the Enterprise and Teams plans.
Where to go next
The market study session I shared here came from a much bigger workflow, and you can see how it was produced in Master Claude Code Dynamic Workflows (49 Agents). To keep improving how you work with Claude Code week over week, check Get Better at Claude Code with One Simple Command.
