This webinar explains when to use Claude Chat, Claude Cowork and Claude Code, with live demos of connectors, skills, plugins, scheduled tasks and Claude Code commands, so you pick the right tool for each job.

Pour qui: Business owners and operators who already use Claude or ChatGPT and are unsure which Claude tool fits their work.

À retenir

  1. Connections matter more than intelligence

I would argue that every major model (Gemini, DeepSeek, Grok, Mistral, ChatGPT, Claude) is now intelligent enough, so intelligence is no longer the reason to pick one. What sets Claude apart is its ecosystem of connectors to the tools you use every day: your email, your local files, your AI note taker. That is why Claude became my go-to tool, not because it is smarter.

  2. Chat is level one, and the only place for Research

Chat is the foundation: anything you do there also works in Cowork and Code. It covers web questions, drafting, rewording, presentations, interactive diagrams (Claude cannot generate images), response styles and Projects with custom instructions per client or topic. Research, which builds large reports from online data, is only available in Chat. I use it to look up companies, events, or to write detailed tutorials for myself.

  3. Skills, connectors and plugins

A skill is a reusable workflow: a folder with a skill.md text file explaining what it does, plus optional files and code. Do a task once in a conversation, then ask Claude to turn it into a skill and click Save Skill. A connector links Claude one-to-one with a single app, such as Notion, Gmail or Canva. A plugin is one-to-many: a library of skills and connectors around one theme, such as marketing or sales.

  4. Cowork adds local files, scheduled tasks and Dispatch

Cowork does everything Chat does except Research. It also works inside one folder you choose on your computer (and only that folder, for security), so it can organize downloads, clean messy spreadsheets and read local documents. It can run scheduled tasks and, with Dispatch, lets you control it from your phone by scanning a QR code. Your computer has to stay on for scheduled tasks and Dispatch.

  5. Automate a morning report in five minutes

I ask Cowork for the latest AI news, then ask how to schedule it. Claude creates a skill and a scheduled task that checks the news every morning, and I click Schedule. The same pattern works for inbox management or a daily report pulled from your CRM and to-do apps: connect the apps, tell Claude what to fetch and when (for example, every morning at 9:30 AM).

  6. Move to Claude Code when you need scale or APIs

Cowork can only reach apps listed in its Connectors tab and cannot use API keys or write code that talks to outside services. It also struggles with scraping more than about fifty entries. Switch to Claude Code for large data, API keys and complex scheduled tasks across many apps. Ask it what it needs to build a system and it lists the keys and steps, such as a Google AI Studio key to analyze videos with Gemini.

  7. Use /init and /insights in Claude Code

In Claude Code, typing / shows your skills and the built-in commands. /cost shows what the session has cost. /init reads the folder you are working in and creates a claude.md file with the context Claude needs about your project. /insights reads your past Claude Code conversations and produces a report on how you use it, what keeps failing, and how to improve.

Questions du public

Should I use Claude Chat for defining architecture designs, like AWS cloud solutions for a client?

For anything related to code, I prefer Claude Code. You can use Chat's Research to learn how to architect a given system, and that is fine if you are starting from zero. But if you are modifying something that already exists, connect Claude Code to that system: it will give you a much more detailed response because it can see what is actually there.

Is Canva a plugin? It is the only one I have turned on.

Canva is a connector, not a plugin. A connector links Claude one-to-one with a single application. A plugin is one-to-many: a library of connectors plus some skills around one theme, like marketing or sales. I admit Anthropic does not explain this well, so remember it simply: connector means one app, plugin means many, plus maybe some skills.

My tokens run out when I switch between projects because Claude reads many documents and goes to the wrong places. How do I fix that?

Before working in a folder that holds many project folders, have Claude Code analyze the structure of everything in it, in other words map the workspace. Then ask it to ask you questions so it can create a map it will always use when you work on a project, so it knows which folder is project A and which is project B. I did this with my Notion workspace; it took about 30 minutes but works. I also suggest running /insights.
