Run Claude Code with GPT 5.6 Sol in 5 Minutes
You will install the Claudex setup through Claude Code in your terminal, then launch it with the ccx command so Claude Code runs on GPT 5.6 Sol using your ChatGPT account.
Was Sie brauchen
Claude Code installed in your terminal (not the Claude desktop app)
An OpenAI ChatGPT account (no Claude account needed)
The Claudex GitHub repository link
About five minutes
Schritt für Schritt
Open the Claudex GitHub repository
Open the Claudex repository from the video description. It holds step-by-step instructions that your Claude Code will follow. Read through it first so you know what happens in the background.
Claudex setup repositoryhttps://github.com/migueltorrezd/claudex
Use Claude Code in the terminal
Open Claude Code in your terminal. This setup does not work in the Claude desktop app. If you do not have the terminal version yet, you can ask Claude Code to help you install it.
Ask Claude Code to explain the repository
Paste the repository link into your Claude Code session and ask it to explain what is inside. Claude Code fetches the page, reads the files and breaks down the setup steps for you.
Prompt to paste with the linkHey, Claude, can you please explain to me what's inside of this GitHub link? https://github.com/migueltorrezd/claudex
Check the diagram and run the setup
Look at the diagram in the repository to understand how the pieces connect. Then let Claude Code follow the setup steps. Sign in with your OpenAI ChatGPT account when needed. The setup takes about five minutes and asks you how you want it configured.
Launch Claude Code with the ccx command
Once installed, run the ccx command in your terminal. The header should show GPT 5.6 Sol. It is used for the main agent, the sub-agents and the background tasks.
Launch commandccx
Pick the model you want
Select the model you want to use directly inside the session. I use Sol High in the video.
Compare it with Codex
Try your normal coding tasks with Claude Code running GPT 5.6 Sol, then try the same work in the Codex desktop app. Keep the one you prefer; both are valid options.
Worauf Sie achten sollten
Running this in the Claude desktop app will not work: it has to be Claude Code in the terminal.
You do not need a Claude account, but you do need an OpenAI ChatGPT account to power the model.
If the header after running ccx does not say GPT 5.6 Sol, the setup did not finish: ask Claude Code to go back through the repository steps.
