# ChatGPT vs Claude: which one to open

The idea from the video: both models are very smart. Claude is the better business tool because it connects to more of your apps, files and computer.

## Features both tools have

| Feature | In ChatGPT | In Claude |
|---|---|---|
| Detailed web reports | Deep research | Research |
| Group chats + your documents | Projects | Projects (New Project, add files) |
| Connect to other apps | Apps (Airtable, Adobe Suite, Canva, Lovable) | Connectors (Gmail, Google Drive, Trello, databases) |
| Google Drive | Yes | Yes (I find it works better in Claude) |

## Open ChatGPT when you want

- Quick questions or translations: use the always-on desktop app window and a keyboard shortcut
- Image creation (good enough for most marketing uses)
- Active voice mode to talk in real time
- A public custom GPT from the GPT Store (Explore GPTs), for example a customer questions bot for your business
- To try new features first: OpenAI usually ships them before anyone else

## Open Claude when you want

- **Artifacts**: small apps you publish and share by link (writing assistant, CRM, cover letter generator, a quick game), with no code
- **Skills** (in Customize): save a workflow once and Claude repeats it the same way. Share a skill with a colleague so they work to your standard
  - Prompt to use after a task: "Hey, I'm going to clean more data afterwards. Can you save this as a skill?"
- **Plugins**: an app store for skills (customer support, data, brand voice, single tools)
- **Style selector**: change how Claude replies, or create your own style
- **Cowork**: pick a folder on your computer, analyze the files in it, create Excel files or reports there
- **Claude Code**: plain English instructions, long-running work, help connecting your tools

## Watch out

- Claude has no native image generation. Workaround: a skill that makes visuals in HTML, then download the HTML and use it as an image.
- For the best image generation, I pick Gemini's Nano Banana Pro.
- Codex (OpenAI's version of Claude Code) is aimed mostly at developers.
