   Open Claude and ask it to write a poem. Then ask it to save the poem as a file on your computer. It will say it cannot access your local files: you have to save it yourself. If you connect Google Drive through the connectors feature, it can save there instead.

   Open Cowork and pick a folder

   Switch to Cowork. Choose where you want to work and select a folder on your computer (I use one called Claude). Cowork can now read and write files inside that folder, and it can also reach services you connect, like Google or Microsoft.

   Ask Cowork to write and save an HTML page

   Ask for the poem again, then ask Cowork to turn it into an HTML file and save it in the folder. HTML is the file type web pages are made of. If a file with the same name exists, Cowork will update it.

   Customize Cowork and add tasks

   Edit Cowork's instructions file to set rules it always follows, for example always reply in Spanish or French, or precise details about your business. You can also give Cowork tasks to run every day.

   Open your saved page

   When Cowork finishes, click view my poem to open the HTML file. Ask Cowork to change it if needed. Note what Cowork cannot do: it has no developer tools, so it cannot put the page on the internet.

   Switch to Claude Code on the same folder

   In the desktop app, open Claude Code. No terminal or code editor needed. Choose to work locally and select the same folder you used with Cowork. Ask it to list the files so you can confirm it sees your work.

   Deploy the page to Vercel

   Ask Claude Code to deploy your HTML file to Vercel, a service that puts web pages online. It may rename the file first. When it asks for permission, you can choose always allow for this session. Claude Code then reports back with the URL of your live page.
